This vegan coleslaw takes a few unexpected twists on a classic side dish and is…
Today we are sharing a recipe that we have been enjoying quite a bit recently. Its a White Bean Veggie Burger that is quick, easy and packed with flavor!
Making Veggie Burgers Your Own
We love making our own vegan veggie burgers. Its an opportunity to make a delicious burger just the way you want! One of our favorites is our own DIY Black Bean Burgers. And you can find many recipes online for veggie burgers that use black beans (like our’s) or chick peas. They’re all tasty and wonderful. But white beans aren’t as common. We happen to love white beans (aka cannelloni beans). They are hearty, creamy and rich. We have used them in Protein Smoothies and in Bruschetta, but never burgers.
White Bean Veggie Burgers Will Do What You Like
Because white beans have a perfect-for-mashing density, and a stick-together nature, they are perfect for a burger. You can make a nice big thick burger with this recipe that stands up to pan-frying, grilling, or just heating up in the microwave. These white bean veggie burgers also willingly go along with you no matter what taste profile you are going for. We have made spicy, cheesy sandwiches, more traditional burger delights with pickles and relish, and even popped them in wraps with salsa and vegan sour cream.
Georgia’s Classic Burger Sandwich
I love pickles, greens, mustard, a garden tomato*, and crunchy toast for my burgers so this was my sandwich with our first batch of these delicious patties.
*this time of year I’m always looking for something to go with garden tomatoes.
Greg’s Spicy, Cheesy, Messy Burger
Greg, on the other hand, really likes to make food spicy. So his sandwich brought the heat! These white bean veggie burgers stood up just fine to the jalapeño slices, Nacho Cheese Sauce, red onions, and more toast (can we talk about how wonderfully Ezekiel bread toasts?).
Let’s Make These Veggie Burgers!
Don’t these sound delicious? Well they are and they are also very easy to make, with a short list of very common ingredients. Stuff like tahini, onions and garlic, oats, salt. The recipe is from our blogger friend Kristina, who’s website, spabettie.com, is filled with fun and delicious food. So we suggest that you jump right over to her blog and get the recipe for her White Bean Veggie Burgers and start making your own yummy burgers. Be sure to tell her that Georgia & Greg sent you!
